Avian’s Managing Director, Scott McCallum, was invited to V&A Dundee today to attend the official opening ceremony conducted by Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Earl and Countess of Strathearn unveiled a plaque, spoke with crowds and toured the museum. V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first museum of design, is an international centre of design that presents the brilliance of Scottish creativity and the best of design from around the world.

Designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, sitting on the banks of the River Tay, the first V&A outpost anywhere in the world outside London is the centrepiece of an ongoing £1bn regeneration of Dundee’s Waterfront. At a cost of around £80m, V&A Dundee is expected to attract half a million visitors every year. Since the museum opened in September last year it has welcomed more than 380,000 visitors already.

The fantastic jewel in Dundee’s Waterfront crown will continue to boost the Scottish economy by benefiting the city and its surrounding areas, putting Dundee on the list for a top tourist attraction in the UK.
